This project was developed in an effort for you to become more engaged with our medical history collections, help us transcribe our handwritten works, and to further enrich our digital collections as we aim to better serve our body of online patrons, you!

About the Project

Revive! was developed by the Waring Historical Library digital archives program and the MUSC Libraries Systems. In April 2015, the Waring became a recipient of the Express Library Digitization Award of the Southeast/Atlantic Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine(NN/LM). The funding was used to digitize 400 handwritten theses, pertaining to fevers, produced by antebellum students of the Medical College of South Carolina, later merged with and named Medical College of the State of South Carolina, from the 1830s to 1860. The theses help to account for 1,858 inaugural theses in the holdings of the Waring Historical Library.

The pages that you help us transcribe will be used to enrich the data describing our collections and to enhance searching our existing digital collections. Thank you for helping us Revive! our historical medical history collections!
